“A BIG thanks to Malik from Afghan Tour & Trek for the great support he provided me with for my travels in Afghanistan back in November last year. Finding the right fixer/guide to help you get to remote locations is not always easy. In 3 weeks, I visited the Wakhan Corridor/Little Pamir, Mazar, Bamyan & Kabul. My focus was photography. Malik was extremely helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process, from helping with visa info, border crossing, local permits and all other logistics. No ask was too much for him. The highlight of my travels were the Wakhan Corridor & Little Pamir, there’s something magical about these places, not just the mountains but their people, the Wakhi and the Kyrgyz, truly welcoming. A great experience seeing how they live. Malik is also very knowledgeable, he knows the terrain and the traditions. Wakchan trek with Malang Dario
“June 2026 four friends of mine and I set off on a fabulous trek into the deserted plains of northern Wakchan. We walked for 10 days from Wuzet to Sarhade Brighil through a wide deserted mountains and did not meet any other tourists. The path was unmarked and the fact that everything went safely and smoothly was the merit of our hired guide Malang Dario. Malang is a very respected figure in the entire region, which was evident in every contact with local police officers at checkpoints or herders in the mountains, but at the same time he is a patient friend in times of trouble. Without Malang we would have had a very difficult time managing it, we would not have been able to negotiate anything with the locals and we would have had trouble finding the right path.
